When you experience a problem with your boiler, the fault may not be obvious to see at first. If the system isn’t operating efficiently, it may be down to sludge, rust or limescale causing leaks or blocking the pipes.

You may notice cold spots on your radiator that are usually caused by the build-up of sludge. Not only does this mean the system has to work harder, but you also waste more energy in the process. A build-up of dirty water in the boiler can also lead to a breakdown – in fact, this is one of the most common reasons our engineers are called out to help.

Really, really poor - plumber turned up over 4 hours late and shut down the boiler due to some irregular readings… 5 days later we were still without hot water and absolutely no sign of this issue being solved. I rang 7 times for an update and every single time I was given a lame excuse blaming the supplier or that the issue is somebody else’s responsibility and that i will get a call back that evening (7 times I’ve been told they’ll call me back - I have not been called back once!…)
FYI - I called another plumber this afternoon and he was round and fixed the problem within 2 hours…
